Frequently asked questions

What is a crypto card?

A Visa or Mastercard debit or prepaid card that you fund with cryptocurrency. When you pay, the issuer converts your crypto or stablecoins into the local currency, so the shop receives normal money. It works anywhere the card network is accepted, online or in person.

Can I get a crypto card without KYC?

Yes. 29 of the active cards we track need no ID document. Most are virtual prepaid cards funded with USDT or USDC. Expect lower limits and higher top-up fees than verified cards.

How do we rate cards?

Every card gets a rating out of 10 built from four parts: privacy and ID requirements, how much the issuer can be trusted, real-world fees, and what users say on Reddit, X, Trustpilot, app stores and YouTube. Sponsored and featured placements are always labelled.

Which crypto card has the lowest fees?

Sort the list by lowest monthly fee, then compare the top-up fee and FX fee columns. A card with no monthly fee can still cost several percent on every deposit.

Are crypto cards safe?

With a custodial card the issuer holds your balance, so you carry the issuer's risk. A self-custodial card spends from a wallet you control. The user feedback on each review is the fastest way to spot frozen accounts, slow support or a program that is winding down.

Is spending crypto with a card taxable?

In most countries, spending crypto counts as selling it, so any gain since you bought it can be taxable. Stablecoin cards keep this simple because a stablecoin rarely changes in value.
