Users like the convenience of spending directly from the KuCoin Funding Account, with just-in-time conversion across 50+ assets and working Apple Pay and Google Pay. The exchange app also gets good marks for its altcoin selection and trading tools. Economics are where opinion turns negative. Testing found a crypto-to-fiat spread near 0.9% on the EEA card, and about 3.5% in one BTC test, which wipes out the 1% cashback, and pre-converting to EUR avoids the spread but forfeits cashback. Other charges include a EUR 9.99 issuance fee, EUR 3 a month after 90 days of inactivity, EUR 2 ATM fees and 2% non-EUR FX. Continuity is a bigger concern: Wallester ended its arrangement with partner Eurlita on 31 December 2025 at one to two days' notice, and Austria's FMA barred KuCoin EU from new business in February 2026, leaving European holders calling their cards useless. Support is criticized for refunds unpaid for months and shifting dispute criteria. The Australian Mastercard version, issued by Immersve, is a separate and cleaner product with no annual or issuance fee.
