How to top up a crypto card with USDT
Updated , 4 min read
USDT is the most common way to fund a no KYC card. The coin is the easy part. The network you send it on decides whether you pay cents or dollars, and whether the money arrives at all.
28 of the 29 no KYC cards we track accept USDT. Stablecoins are the sensible default: your balance does not rise or fall with the market between top-up and purchase, and in many countries spending them causes no taxable gain.
Pick the right network
The same USDT exists on several blockchains. The card issuer only listens on some of them.
- Tron (TRC20): the most widely accepted, about a dollar or less per transfer.
- Solana: fractions of a cent, increasingly supported.
- BNB Chain (BEP20), Polygon, Arbitrum, Base: cheap, accepted by many issuers.
- Ethereum (ERC20): accepted almost everywhere, but often several dollars per transfer.
Step by step
- Open the top-up screen in your card app and pick USDT and a network.
- Copy the deposit address. Never type it by hand.
- In your wallet or exchange, choose the same network for the withdrawal.
- Send a small test amount, wait for it to show on the card, then send the rest.
Watch the total cost
A top-up costs three things: the network fee, the issuer's top-up fee, and sometimes a spread on the conversion to dollars or euros. On a $500 top-up, a 1% fee is $5 and a 5% fee is $25. Over a year that difference is larger than any card fee, so compare the top-up fee column in our no KYC table first.
Withdrawing from an exchange
If you buy USDT on a verified exchange and send it to a no KYC card, the exchange knows where it went. For more privacy, move funds through a self custodial wallet first. Some people top up with Monero instead: 6 no KYC cards accept XMR. See no KYC Monero cards.
