Using a no KYC card for online payments and subscriptions

Updated , 4 min read

Online payments are what most no KYC cards are used for: streaming, AI tools, hosting, ad accounts and shopping. Most work, some get declined, and the reason is usually the card, not you.

28 of 29 no KYC cards are virtual: a card number, expiry and CVV in an app, ready for online checkouts as soon as you top up.

Why some payments get declined

  • Prepaid blocks. Some merchants and ad platforms refuse prepaid cards outright.
  • Country mismatch. The card may be issued in a different country from your billing address or IP.
  • Balance and fees. Currency conversion or a decline fee can push the total above your balance.
  • Restricted categories. Issuers often block certain merchant types by default.

How to improve acceptance

  • Enter the billing address the issuer shows in its app, if it shows one.
  • Keep a small buffer above the subscription price for FX and fees.
  • Hold a second card on the other network. If Visa is declined, Mastercard often goes through.
  • Check each card page for user reports of specific merchants that work or fail.

Which card to pick

For subscriptions, look for no monthly fee (23 of 29 cards), a low top-up fee, and a USD balance if most of your services bill in dollars. Start with the no KYC virtual card list, or the cards with no monthly fee.

Frequently asked questions

Do no KYC cards work for subscriptions?

Most do. Recurring payments work like with any debit card, as long as the balance covers the charge on the renewal date.

Why was my no KYC card declined?

Common reasons: the merchant blocks prepaid cards, the card's country does not match your billing address, the balance did not cover fees, or the merchant category is restricted by the issuer.

Visa or Mastercard for online payments?

Both are accepted almost everywhere online. Of the no KYC cards we track, 18 run on Visa and 8 on Mastercard. If one is declined, a card on the other network often works.
